Summary

What is it?
The Growing Well Study is a research project that will involve at the start around 2,000 children aged between 6 months to 4 years in England. We will look at what young children are eating and how this may relate to growth and dental health.
Why is it important?
There is limited up-to-date information on what young children eat in the UK. This study will help improve guidance for families and health professionals. It will answer key questions about what and how much of different foods children are eating.
Who can take part?
We are inviting families with children aged 6 months to 4 years living in Leeds, Doncaster, and East London to take part.
What’s involved?
We will ask parents or guardians to complete two online questionnaires (1 year apart), attend two face-to-face visits to measure their child’s growth (1 year apart). We will also ask for what their child eats on three occasions, three in the first year and three in the second. To thank families for their time, they will receive up to £50 shopping vouchers per child.
